Be the Driving Force in Zero Harm

Supply Chain, Warehouse & Distribution Guide to Workplace Safety 2016/17 – Released

warehouseDid you know, that current figures, reported by Safe Work Australia, state that there have been 76 worker fatalities in Australia so far this year. Unfortunately, the transport, postal and warehousing sector is leading in this tragic figure with the highest fatality rate of 24 deaths.

It is quite an alarming statistic, considering the transport, postal and warehousing sector accounts for around 5.3% of the total Australian workforce and employs approximately 628,600 persons. The safety and health of all these individuals is imperative therefore, and to assist with making this a priority, Pro-Visual Publishing, in collaboration with the Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia (SCLAA) and the Australasian Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS AU), has released this year’s edition of the Supply Chain, Warehouse and Distribution Guide to Workplace Safety. This year’s Guide features a number of key safety areas within the industry, and with Augmented Reality (AR) technology, employers and workers are equipped with even more information and resources.

The following are just a few of the most common hazards to the transport, postal and warehousing sector:

o Forklift trucks

o Fatigue

o Hazardous chemicals

o Hazardous manual tasks

Protect your employees and colleagues from becoming another statistic. Ensure that safety measures are in place to address these hazards and have everyone return home safely at the end of each shift, each and every day.

“I would like to thank all of the sponsors of the Supply Chain, Warehouse & Distribution Guide to Workplace Safety 2016/17. Their support has made it possible for the Guide to be distributed free of charge.”
