Laboratory Guide to Workplace Safety 2018 – Released

labsPro-Visual Publishing’s 2018 edition of the Laboratory Guide to Workplace Safety, is supported by Science Industry Australia (SIA), the Australasian Laboratory Managers Association (ALMA) and the National Safety Council of Australia Foundation (NSCA).

The interactive Guide provides information on key Workplace Health and Safety hazards and risks known to be associated with the Laboratory Industry. It is designed to deliver practical safety tips to help manage risks and avoid unnecessary illness and injuries to workers and visitors. Key topics in this year’s Guide, include:

· Risk assessment.

· Good laboratory practice.

· Hygiene and basic housekeeping guidelines.

· Hazardous substances and toxicity – storage and disposal of laboratory chemicals.

· Sterilisation procedures in laboratories.

In addition to the printed Guide, interactive resources and further information can be

accessed by scanning the Guide using the free Pro-Vis AR app. The interactivity is engaging for staff members and ideal to utilise during staff training.
